Access Physicians Earns Endorsement of Two Texas Hospital Associations

The Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals last month joined the Texas Hospital Association in providing its exclusive endorsement of Access Physicians for telemedicine. With these two coveted endorsements, our approach to telemedicine has the validation and backing of the two largest hospital membership groups in the state.

Both associations recognize our unique ability to partner with hospitals of all sizes – rural and urban – to build, implement and sustain telemedicine programs that meets the needs of each hospital.

As physicians, we know that medicine is highly individualized. We believe telemedicine programs should be as well. That’s why we work diligently to craft telemedicine programs that meet the individual needs of every hospital we serve.  Each hospital’s clinical and financial goals guide what we do.

“We have a custom approach to every hospital to meet their needs and work with existing resources from a personnel and infrastructure standpoint, to develop really low cost, but clinically effective, programs,” said Chris Gallagher, M.D., CEO of Access Physicians.

For large, urban hospitals, we can work with existing physicians to supplement current clinical offerings. For example, we work with one such hospital to provide neurology coverage of EEG reads, a gap in its otherwise comprehensive neurology program. For small, rural hospitals, we can offer a new service line, cardiology or pulmonology & critical care, for example, which has been out of reach because of physician shortages or staffing challenges.

In all cases, fewer patients are transferred, length-of-stay is minimized while DRG reimbursement is maximized, and case mix index and census are increased.

Giving every hospital the power to do more for their patients and communities is the Access Physicians difference.
