Saurin Patel, M.D. is board certified in Internal Medicine and serves as Access Physicians' chief medical officer.

Dr. Patel ties his strengths as a physician leader to a background in business and finance, with a particular interest in improving processes and efficiencies. He supports the philosophy that technology alone does not increase efficiency in healthcare settings. His work has quantitatively demonstrated how to effectively use technology to substantially improve outcomes, patient satisfaction, and physician efficiency. Dr. Patel completed his Internal Medicine residency training at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he subsequently joined as an Assistant Professor. In his time there, he rose to the position of Associate Medical Director of the Division of Hospital Medicine. As Associate Medical Director, he was instrumental in growing an academic hospitalist group and led innovation initiatives across the new University Hospital. Dr. Patel earned his Doctor of Medicine from UT Southwestern, and his BBA in finance from the University of Texas at Austin. He serves on the Texas Medical Association’s Committee on Physician Distribution and Access and Governor Abbott’s Broadband Development Council.
